My Wish List…

Naturally as a mother, you want the best for your kids and if you would have asked me not too long ago what my number one wish for my kids was, I would have told you straight up that besides being healthy, I wanted them to be neurosurgeons or anesthesiologists. Yes, I wanted want them to have prestigious professions and there were just no room for anything else! I slowly directed their attentions to TV shows such  as A Gifted Man  ( I was so obsessed with Dr Holt man! ) and Grey’s Anatomy and before you know it, they became obsessed and couldn’t wait for the week’s allowed screen -time to watch more episodes.

As time went by, I began to realize that yes, money is required to survive ( this is just a personal opinion), but there are far more important things to accomplish in life than having a high-paying career! This led to the wish list I am sharing with you today and although it was far more difficult to narrow down and still a work ( wish list ) in process, I think this is a great start don’t you think? ( Please note these are in no particular order.)

1 – Be kind and compassionate

2 – Be educated

3 – Be risk-takers and see failure as an opportunity to try something new

4 – Be happy

5 –  Dream big and follow your dreams

7 – Love, Love, Love

If you are a parent or can relate to this post in general, what are your wishes for your children? Anything else I should consider? As always thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a fabulous week!

Live, Love, Laugh

Deborah

SO much genuine love for this post! We’re just coming into a point in our lives where we realize that there’s so much more to strive for (and be grateful for) than money. Following your dreams is at the top of that list, as is being happy! All the money in the world can’t make you happy if you’re not following your heart. As corny as that might sound, it’s so true!

This is such an awesome insight Susie! It is a sad realization that while material things can bring us some level of happiness, they don’t bring joy and happiness! Thank you!

I am not a parent, however all those valuable skills that you mentioned are so important for a child a to have and to carry with them after college in order to navigate relationships and careers and be a well-rounded, successful person. Now onto your gorgeous outfit, that sweater could not be more appropriate for this subject matter 🙂 Simply adore your skirt and the vibrant color. Such a great pairing.

This is a great post – with emphasis on “being” more than on “having” or “doing”. If I could offer #8, which is related to the previous seven: “Discover what your special, unique gift is, find out what you are passionate about, and share it with the world – shine your light for all to see”.

As a mother I also want my kids to be happy and keep healty. Wealth is nice to have but you’re not happier than anybody else. You look gorgeous in that pleated skirt.
